Supreme Court Removes Phang Nga Candidate's Name from Election List Due to Stolen Goods Conviction
On February 3, 2024, the Supreme Court's Election Division issued an order removing Mr. Raaman Klarian from the parliamentary candidate list for Phang Nga's Election District 1 of the Phollawat Party. This follows a final court verdict from Krabi Provincial Court convicting him of receiving stolen goods, a property-related criminal offense. The original court ruling on November 8, 2021, sentenced him to 1 year and 6 months in prison, with a 4,000 baht fine, suspended for 2 years with probation. As a result, he is prohibited from running for parliament under the Thai Constitution, Article 98(10).
