Eastern Military Command Clarifies Cambodian Soldiers' Provocation Near Border
On February 12, 2569, in response to reports of Cambodian soldiers provocation near Ban Nong Chan in Sa Kaeo province, Colonel Chairarong Kasi of Special Task Unit 12 provided details about the incident. Thai military personnel were digging defensive trenches near border marker 46 as part of routine border security operations when approximately 12 Cambodian soldiers arrived to observe their work. No confrontation occurred. To prevent misunderstandings, Colonel Chairarong contacted Major General Aek Someon, Regional Military Commander 5 of Cambodia, requesting the withdrawal of Cambodian troops, which was achieved with good cooperation. The colonel emphasized that the overall situation remains calm and under control, maintaining good bilateral relations through close military communication channels.
