Military District 22 Promotes Wife of Brave Border Soldier to Corporal Rank
Military District 22 has promoted the wife of a brave Thai-Cambodian border soldier to help alleviate hardship and create career stability. On February 16, 2024, Military District 22 in Ubon Ratchathani will recruit the descendant of a heroic border soldier as a replacement following a border conflict incident. Sergeant Anothay Pongkaew, a brave soldier from the Special Operations Battalion, Special Warfare Regiment 3 (SK.90), died heroically while protecting the country's sovereignty, demonstrating exceptional loyalty and honor. According to military regulations, families of those who sacrifice themselves for the nation are supported, with a key provision being the recruitment of descendants to replace fallen soldiers. This helps provide financial security and honors the legacy of those who defended the land. On February 16 at 09:09 AM, Major General Thanakrit Phanrod, Commander of Military District 22, pinned the rank insignia on Ms. Phensiri Srilapa, the wife of the brave soldier, promoting her to Corporal Phensiri Srilapa in a position at Military District 22's welfare office. The ceremony was attended by relatives, commanding officers, and commissioned officers. The commander expressed condolences for the loss, thanked the family for their support, and welcomed the new army member, emphasizing the military's commitment that 'we will not leave anyone behind'.
