Police Bust Kidnapping Gang Responsible for Brutal Murder in Trang
Police launched a special operation called "Zero Shadow" to takedown a mafia group in Trang province after a brutal murder. The operation targeted a criminal gang involved in kidnapping, extortion, and murder. The investigation began after the discovery of Surasak Chaiwat, a 22-year-old debt collector, who was found shot six times and dumped in an oil palm plantation. A heartbreaking note to his mother was found in his bag, pleading: "I want to come home, Mom... please help me, let someone pay to save my life." Investigators discovered that Surasak had been working as a debt collector for a local loan shark group. He had allegedly stolen money from the loan shark, which led to his kidnapping and eventual murder. The gang hired former police officers and youth with criminal backgrounds to abduct and kill him. Police successfully arrested four suspects - Suchat, Cherdsak, Kittisakdi, and Jirapong - on charges of kidnapping and extortion. They seized bank account books, mobile phones, and clothing used during the crime. Police Major General Nattasak Chaonarai emphasized that this operation aims to expose hidden criminal networks and ensure that no one is above the law. The investigation will continue to track down the mastermind behind the operation.
