Sihasak Ready to Respond If 'Hun Manet' Distorts Information, Plans to Use International Law to Cancel MOU44
Foreign Minister Sihasak Pongkrut discussed the potential cancellation of MOU44 at Government House, emphasizing that any cancellation must be approved by the new government cabinet and National Security Council. He stated that international law provides alternatives to the existing memorandum, similar to border dispute negotiations with Malaysia. Sihasak stressed the need for clear guidelines if the MOU is cancelled and noted that both countries must agree on new terms or engage in negotiations. Regarding Hun Manet's international diplomatic activities, Sihasak said Thailand is monitoring his moves and is prepared to clarify any misrepresentations of facts. The ministry has also inquired about documents Hun Manet requested from France regarding historical and technical border information.
