Meteorological Department Forecasts 7-Day Weather: Warning of Increased Heavy Rainfall and Strong Winds

The Meteorological Department has issued a 7-day weather forecast for February 18-24, 2024. From February 18-20, a moderate cool air mass will cover the Northeast and South China Sea, bringing east and southeast winds carrying moisture from the Gulf of Thailand. This will result in thunderstorms and strong wind gusts in some areas. The Southern region will continue to experience thunderstorms due to east winds covering the Gulf of Thailand, Andaman Sea, and Southern region. Wave heights in the lower Gulf will be around 2 meters, with areas of thunderstorms potentially seeing waves over 2 meters. From February 21-24, the cool air mass will weaken, with south and southeast winds bringing moisture. A western wind wave will move through the North and Northeast, increasing thunderstorm chances and strong wind gusts. The Southern region will see reduced rainfall but still potential thunderstorms. Residents are advised to be cautious of potential thunderstorms, avoid traveling during storms, and protect agricultural produce and livestock.
