Meteorological Department Forecasts 7 Days of Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Across Thailand
The Meteorological Department's 7-day regional weather forecast for 13-19 February 2024 indicates significant weather patterns. From February 13-15, upper Thailand will experience rising temperatures with morning fog, as high-pressure systems and weak cold air masses cover the region. Wind patterns will bring moisture to central lower regions, eastern provinces, Gulf of Thailand, and Southern Thailand, causing scattered thunderstorms. Wave heights in the lower Gulf will range from 1-2 meters, increasing to over 2 meters during thunderstorms. From February 16-19, a new cold air mass from China will spread across Vietnam, Laos, and the South China Sea, bringing moisture to upper Thailand and the Southern region. The upper region will experience hot weather with scattered thunderstorms and strong wind gusts. The Southern region will see increased rainfall with heavy precipitation in some areas. Wave conditions in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea will intensify, with lower Gulf waves reaching approximately 2 meters.
