Suvarnabhumi Airport collaborated with the Customs Department to intercept passengers smuggling heroin hidden in luggage during international transit. On February 3, 2569 (2024) at 3:20 PM, special security task force officials from Suvarnabhumi Airport intercepted a 46-year-old Tanzanian passenger traveling on Bangkok Airways flight PG942 from Luang Prabang, who was scheduled to connect to a Thai Airways flight TG321 to Bangladesh. During luggage inspection, officials discovered 5 large coffee pouches and 2 mineral salt boxes containing 4,815 grams of heroin, valued at 1.44 million baht. The suspect was taken into custody and will be processed according to relevant legal procedures.
