Signing Cooperation to Drive 'Healthy Food System' at 'Good Planting, Good Eating: Natural Agriculture Way' Festival
The Health Promotion Foundation (TSHS), Phet Tha Wung School Group, MOA Thailand Foundation, and Tha Sala Subdistrict Municipality signed a Memorandum of Understanding to drive healthy food system development in Lopburi Province. The project aims to create 'food citizens' and expand sustainable food system model areas to enhance community food security and well-being. The initiative has expanded across multiple provinces, including Lopburi, and continuously develops farmers towards natural agricultural standard certification. Key project leaders highlighted that non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a major Thai health challenge, with over 27.4 million people overweight and nearly 20 million diabetic or hypertensive patients. The project has already trained 25 health promotion leaders across 7 provinces, trained 180 farmers, and successfully transitioned 91 farmers into natural agricultural production standards.
