Fuel Fund Continues to Freeze Diesel Price at 30.94 Baht per Liter
The Fuel Fund has reduced diesel fund rates 3 times within one month, totaling 1.80 baht, to maintain the current diesel retail price. The meeting of the Fuel Oil Fund Management Committee approved reducing the fuel fund rate for diesel by 50 satang per liter, from 0.70 baht to 0.20 baht per liter.
This marks the third reduction in January, with previous reductions on January 14th (50 satang per liter) and January 23rd (80 satang per liter) to freeze diesel retail prices at 30.94 baht per liter.
Despite potential global oil supply disruptions if the United States attacks Iran, a major oil-producing country, the fund aims to prevent significant impact on people's living costs. The Fuel Oil Fund Office has been instructed to monitor global oil market situations that could affect domestic fuel prices.
The reduction in fund contributions will decrease daily revenue to approximately 14.38 million baht from the previous 48.05 million baht. As of January 25th, the fund's status shows a negative balance of 428 million baht, with the oil account at 38,335 million baht and the liquefied petroleum gas account at negative 38,763 million baht.
