85-Year-Old Man Ambushes and Kills Neighbor After 3-Hour Stakeout

On February 13, 2024, at 12:10 PM, an 85-year-old man named Sawai ambushed and shot his 57-year-old female relative, Kulwarang, while she was sitting under her house preparing banana leaves for cooking. The incident occurred in Rong Chang Subdistrict, Pa Mok District, Ang Thong Province. The suspect had been waiting at his window with a shotgun for approximately 3 hours before shooting the victim from about 100 meters away. Local authorities, including the district deputy and police, arrived at the scene and successfully negotiated the suspect's surrender. According to local officials, the two had a long-standing land dispute that had been unsuccessfully mediated the previous day by the local community leaders. The suspect was arrested and will be prosecuted for the murder.
