Temple Issues Free Permit After Elderly Woman Hassled by Fake Committee Member
A heartwarming story unfolded at Nong Faep Temple in Chonburi, where an elderly woman named Uan, 79 years old, was selling traditional Thai sweets at a temple event. Initially, someone claiming to be a temple committee member attempted to charge her 100 baht for a selling spot. Chef Prachya Prayad, who works at the temple, intervened after discovering this was not an official temple policy. He helped the elderly woman by purchasing her entire stock and ensuring she could sell her sweets inside the temple grounds for free. The temple subsequently issued her a free permit, allowing her to earn some money to support herself in her old age. Chef Prachya emphasized the importance of helping elderly vendors and showing compassion, encouraging temple visitors to support the woman's small business.
