Tragic Accident: 6-Wheel Truck Plunges Off Bridge, Driver Dies After Falling Asleep

At 3:40 AM on February 5th, police lieutenant Yutthana Puksuk from Khlong Khlung Police Station in Kamphaeng Phet was notified of a truck accident on the Asian Highway at kilometer marker 423. A white Hino six-wheel truck with Chiang Mai license plates carrying several tons of oranges had fallen off a bridge turnaround point. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to extract the driver's body after a 30-minute operation. The driver, identified as Mr. Anek, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the cause was driver fatigue. Rescue teams cleared the accident site, which was covered with scattered oranges and causing traffic disruption.
