Foreign Tourist 'Mr. Spray' Apologizes for Widespread Graffiti on Koh Phangan
A foreign tourist sparked outrage on Koh Phangan after spray-painting messages across public spaces and official signs at more than 40 locations. The graffiti included slogans like 'SAVE GAZA' on public information signs and 'LIBRE' on electricity poles, affecting roads, rubbish bins, traffic signs, and kilometre markers. The tourist, who contacted Khaosod English, claimed he was motivated by concerns over alleged Israeli war criminals living on the island and wanted to 'remind Israelis of their history'. He apologized for the damage and said he was sorry for upsetting the local community, acknowledging that his options now include turning himself in to police or helping clean the spray-painted signs.
