Good News for Yom-Nan Farmers! Green Climate Fund Gives Green Light to Enhance Resilience
The Royal Irrigation Department is collaborating with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to move forward with a pilot project in Phitsanulok Province. The project aims to enhance climate change resilience in Thailand's river basins through efficient water management and sustainable agriculture. With nature as the community's shield, the project focuses on Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) with support from the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ). Three pilot areas will be developed: Bung Jon in Wang Won Subdistrict, Bung Kluay in Tha Nang Ngam Subdistrict, and Khlong Mem in Tha Chang Subdistrict, all in Phitsanulok Province. The project includes comprehensive environmental and social impact assessments to ensure minimal negative effects on traditional ways of life and community participation.
