BMW Thailand has maintained its championship in the luxury car market for six consecutive years, with vehicle deliveries reaching 10,582 units and a market share of 40.5%. René Gerhard, President and CEO of BMW Group Thailand, revealed the company's performance for the year, highlighting their continued dominance in the premium automotive segment. The total sales reached 12,247 vehicles, representing a 47% market share. Within this total, BMW electric vehicles (BEV) delivered 1,261 units with a 24.2% market share. Mini vehicles saw a 15% increase with 1,665 units delivered, and Mini electric vehicles experienced a remarkable 372% growth with 1,104 units. The company has introduced the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport, locally manufactured at their factory in Rayong. This electric vehicle offers an improved driving range of 627 kilometers on a full charge, powered by an 83.9 kWh lithium-ion battery. The vehicle features a rear-wheel drive electric motor producing 340 horsepower and 400 Newton-meters of torque, with a Sport Boost mode increasing torque to 430 Newton-meters. The BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, with a top speed of 193 km/h. The locally assembled model is priced at 3.499 million baht. When combining both BMW and Mini brands, the BMW Group Thailand achieved a 45.4% market share in the premium electric vehicle segment. Additionally, BMW Motorrad registered 1,033 motorcycle units, with 848 units in the over 500cc category, representing a 2% and 10% growth respectively.
