Thai Civil Aviation Tightens Oversight of Thai Lion Air to Reduce Flight Delays During Chinese New Year
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) is closely tracking flight delays by Thai Lion Air on Friday, February 13th, and is demanding improved management and risk reduction, particularly during the upcoming Chinese New Year period. Following multiple flight delays that significantly impacted passengers at Don Mueang Airport, CAAT has been monitoring the situation closely and conducting on-site supervision to ensure compliance with passenger protection regulations. The authority has been continuously coordinating with Thai Lion Air to minimize passenger impacts, and despite efforts to resolve issues on February 14th, some residual effects from previous days remain. CAAT has instructed the airline to report the causes of the incidents, identified problems, and provide prevention and mitigation plans, especially considering the high travel volume during Chinese New Year. The airline will meet with CAAT on Monday, February 16th to review and improve management strategies and prevent similar incidents in the future.
