Military Special Task Force Captures 16 Chinese Scammer Administrators Illegally Entering Thailand
On February 13th, a special task force from Klong Had unit conducted border patrol along the Thai-Cambodian border. Patrol teams discovered a suspicious group carrying belongings and walking through natural border passages near Aranyaprathet, Sa Kaeo province, approximately 1 kilometer from the border.
The group consisted of 16 Chinese nationals (15 men, 1 woman) without travel documents. During a search, officials found 266 mobile phones and one laptop with no claimed ownership. The group stated they were previously working as scammer page administrators in Poipet, Cambodia, and were being relocated to another country, which they did not want. They had hired Cambodian guides to escort them at 3,500 baht per person.
Authorities believe the group was fleeing Poipet to establish operations in Thailand. All suspects were taken to the 1305 Ranger Company in Aranyaprathet and will be handed over to local police for legal processing.
