Tragic: 3 Dead in Minivan Crash, Vehicles Collide and Overturn on Sukhumvit Road
At 5:30 AM on February 19, 2024, the Sawang Pratheep Si Racha Rescue Center was alerted to a serious road accident on Sukhumvit Road before Ban Na Bridge, heading towards Pattaya. At the scene, a Ford Everest and two Toyota minivans were severely damaged, with vehicles overturned and scattered. Rescue teams found multiple injured passengers: 3 men, 10 women, and 3 children were hurt, with 3 total fatalities (2 men and 1 woman). One identified victim was the 36-year-old minivan driver named Thawee Chai. Witnesses reported that one minivan crossed lanes, colliding with another vehicle and causing a chain reaction crash. Injured passengers were urgently transported to Vibharam Laem Chabang Hospital, Ao Udom Hospital, and Somdet Boromrajakumari Sri Racha Hospital. Police will conduct further investigation and contact the families of the deceased to arrange funeral preparations.
