What? Local Government Official Demands Bonus Payback from Employees, Claims It's to Help Those Without Bonuses
On February 19, 2024 - A Facebook page 'House Guard Dog Operations' exposed the story of a local government subdistrict administration organization in Khon Kaen province. After paying bonuses for 2025 at 90-95% of monthly salary totaling 801,418 baht, the subdistrict administrative official requested a 5-10% payback amounting to over 60,000 baht. The official claimed the money would be donated to help employees who did not receive bonuses, offering 500-1,000 baht per person, totaling around 20,000 baht, to be transferred to a general management staff account. Khon Kaen Governor Khajornkiat Rakpanitmanee revealed that bonus payments follow specific regulations and insisted on verifying the exact details. He has assigned the province to investigate and the district chief will monitor whether proper legal procedures were followed.
