Seven Bomb Attacks in Narathiwat Trigger High Security Alert in Yala

YALA — On 15 February 2026, security measures have been dramatically increased in Yala following a coordinated series of seven bomb attacks in neighboring Narathiwat over the past 48 hours. Provincial Police Region Yala has escalated security to its highest level after insurgents conducted synchronized bombings at seven different locations in Narathiwat between 14–15 February 2026. Although no injuries were reported, authorities remain extremely vigilant to prevent additional violence and maintain stability in the southern border provinces. Pol. Maj. Gen. Kong-at Suwannakham, commander of Yala Provincial Police, has issued urgent directives to security personnel at all checkpoints and inspection points to intensify screening of suspicious individuals and vehicles. Officers have been instructed to maintain extreme caution while on duty to minimize potential risks. These enhanced security measures are designed to boost public confidence during the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations and ensure the safety of Thai-Chinese residents participating in festivities.
