Diverse Travel - Spreading Love in Trang, Amazing Valentine's Destination
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Trang office is promoting adventure tourism by highlighting the heart-shaped islands and mangrove tunnels, revealing the stunning beauty hidden in fertile mangrove forests to welcome the month of love.
Ing-on Kongchu, TAT Trang Director, led tourism operators on a long-tail boat tour to explore the incredible mangrove tunnel, naturally created over hundreds of years without human intervention. Visitors can take a long-tail boat from Ban Nam Rap Pier in Kantang District, Trang Province, traveling through mangrove forests for about 20 minutes to reach the 300-meter-long mangrove tunnel and "Rhino Foot" rock formation.
For adventure enthusiasts, climbing Khao Chom Pa (Sunken Forest Mountain) is a must-do activity. Located in the middle of Ban Nam Rap forest, surrounded by large mangrove trees, the mountain appears to be sinking into the forest. The climb involves navigating rocks and small passages, taking about 30 minutes (or 400 meters) to reach the top. At the summit, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree view of islands in Trang and Krabi provinces.
Additionally, visitors can use drones to capture the heart-shaped island located about 500 meters from Khao Chom Pa's peak. After the adventure, tourists can enjoy fresh seafood from local fishermen, especially the famous blue swimming crabs known for their dense, sweet meat.
Kongchu highlighted various Valentine's activities, including underwater weddings and local food events. She encourages visitors to experience the breathtaking 360-degree Andaman Sea views, with visible islands like Mook Island, Emerald Cave, Kradan Island, Libong Island, and Lao Liang Island.
The local community can accommodate 80-100 visitors daily, with pricing for long-tail boats at 2,000-3,000 baht and raft tours at 700 baht per person, including meals. Advance booking is required through the Ban Nam Rap Raft Tour page or by calling 08-7277-8017.
