From Victim to Suspect: Woman with Mental Illness Attacks Female Police Officer at Police Station

On February 12, 2024, an incident occurred at the Khon Kaen Municipal Police Station where a 32-year-old woman from Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, with a known psychiatric history, transformed from a complaint filer to a criminal suspect. The woman initially came to file a complaint but became agitated and attacked a female police officer, causing facial injuries and bleeding. Police officers at the station quickly intervened, restraining the woman and charging her with obstructing an officer and assault. The officer who was attacked was working her first day in the traffic investigation unit and was injured when the woman mistakenly believed her to be the same officer from earlier that morning. The suspect was temporarily detained and taken to the hospital after claiming to have stomach pain.
