Senators Urge Election Commission and Digital Minister to Investigate Leaked Audio Clip Linked to Prominent Politicians

On February 4th, 2024, at the Parliament, Senators Parinya Wong-cherdkwan and Sahaphan Rungrojanapanit held a press conference regarding a leaked audio clip related to elections in central Thailand. Senator Parinya stated that the Senate will not remain passive and wants to see the Election Commission (EC) work neutrally and transparently. He called for the EC and the Digital Minister to verify the authenticity of the audio clip, which allegedly involves 3-4 individuals from Kanchanaburi province. Senator Sahaphan added that local residents are uncomfortable and questioning the events, urging the EC to proactively investigate the clip using forensic technology, verify its origins, and invite all involved parties for questioning to protect the country's election credibility.
