Police Bust Former Officer for Stolen Toyota Camry with Fake Red Plates
On February 21st, senior police officers led an operation to arrest a 58-year-old former police officer (identified as R.T.O. Thai) for document forgery and receiving stolen property. The suspect was caught at a car garage in Nong Bua, Kanchanaburi, with a gray Toyota Camry and two fake red license plates. The car was originally stolen from a Toyota center in Bangkok, reported by a Korean owner. When officers arrived, the car's hood was still warm, with the battery disconnected. The suspect claimed he purchased the vehicle for 350,000 baht from an intermediary named 'Chat' at a warehouse in Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom, and denied all accusations. He was immediately taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
