71-Year-Old Woman Tears Up Two Voting Ballots, Claims Misunderstanding
A 71-year-old woman tore up two election ballots in the voting booth located at Wat That Thong parking lot, keeping only the marked sections. At 2:10 PM on February 8, 2024, Police Major General Witthawat Chinkham and Police Colonel Pisit Miwiriyakul ordered Khlong Tan police to investigate the incident at Election District 4, Polling Unit 6 in Phra Khanong Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok. The polling station officials confirmed the woman was legally eligible to vote and provided her with green and pink ballots. After casting her votes, she tore up both ballots. When questioned, she claimed it was a misunderstanding, believing she needed to separate the marked sections. Police will proceed with legal charges for ballot destruction.
