Army Reveals Autopsy Results: No Spoon Found in Soldier Phetcharat's Remains
At 9:00 AM on February 23, 2024, at the Air Force Headquarters, Lieutenant General Winthai Suwaree, military spokesperson, addressed public speculation about a spoon found in the ashes after the cremation of Private Phetcharat Khamliang from the 2nd Royal Guard Artillery Regiment in Prachinburi.
Lieutenant General Winthai confirmed that medical forensic examinations, including X-rays and other scientific tests, found no foreign objects and determined the cause of death as sudden heart failure. The physical examination also revealed no signs of physical assault or evidence of first aid during any potential seizure episode.
The spokesperson emphasized that beyond forensic results, witness statements from fellow soldiers who shared the same detention area confirmed no physical altercations. Regarding soldiers carrying spoons, Winthai explained that during training, soldiers often eat meals outside their unit and traditionally carry personal utensils, which is standard practice in many military units.
