Prisoner Escapes Nonthaburi Provincial Prison by Climbing and Rappelling Down Wall
At 9:00 AM on February 13, 2026, Nonthaburi Prison officials reported that during the morning prisoner count, inmate Chuchai Srijin, 40, was found missing. Investigations revealed he had escaped around 2:00 AM by climbing over the prison wall near Tower 2, rappelling down to the parking area next to the prison's storage building, and then walking towards the Nonthaburi pier. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chaychai Nathanakarn ordered investigative units to coordinate with prison authorities to track down and arrest Chuchai. Background checks showed that Chuchai was previously arrested in November 2025 by Plai Bang Police Station for theft, with his home address in Phai Bang Subdistrict, Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province. Surveillance footage showed Chuchai methodically rappelling down the prison wall, calmly walking to the parking area, opening the door, and walking out along the road near the pier.
