Clothing Vendor Discovers Tragic Infant Corpse Discarded in Eucalyptus Forest
On January 31st at 6:30 AM, Police Investigator Suwit Suicharoen received a report from Pornsiri, a 38-year-old clothing market vendor, who discovered an infant's body discarded in a eucalyptus forest behind a tile factory in Hua Wa Subdistrict, Sri Mahapho District, Prachinburi Province.
The vendor was in the area to relieve herself when she found a green plastic bag. Initially thinking it was discarded clothing, she used a stick to investigate. Upon opening the bag, she discovered a red cloth bag with a black sarong covering it. Inside, she found a decomposing infant's body, with visible legs and a strong odor of decay.
Investigative teams from local authorities, forensic doctors, and rescue volunteers arrived at the scene. They confirmed the body was of a newborn female, appearing to have been deceased for approximately two days. The placenta was still attached to the corpse.
Preliminary investigation suggests the potential perpetrator might be a factory worker or migrant laborer. Police plan to review nearby CCTV footage and contact local hospitals to identify a woman who may have recently experienced significant blood loss from childbirth. The goal is to locate and prosecute the infant's mother under the law.
