Amulet News - Commemorative Coin of Luang Por Rung
Luang Por Rung Kangkasuwanno was the first abbot of Wat Nong Si Nuan in Nakhon Sawan province, a famous Buddhist monk closely associated with Luang Por Derm of Wat Nong Po. Born on September 15, 1869, in Ban Hua Wai, he was ordained at age 22 in 1891 at Wat Phra Prang Luang. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to Buddhist practice, community development, and spiritual guidance. He played a crucial role in establishing Wat Nong Si Nuan and was widely respected for his humble and peaceful lifestyle. In 1946, at the age of 77 and after 55 years as a monk, he passed away peacefully. A commemorative coin, the 'Phum Khao Bin' amulet, was created in 1946 but was not blessed before his death.
