Sarawut Sirirangchai, a member of the Thai national Asian Games team for the 20th edition, showed exceptional form by winning the road race at the 2nd round of the Thailand National Road Cycling Championship in Phichit province. The cycling competition, which included road and mountain bike categories, was held under the royal patronage of King Bhumibol and the current monarch from February 20-22, 2024. The race start ceremony took place at the Saranchit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track (Bung Si Fai), with Krit Phensupa, the Phichit Provincial Administrative Organization President, officiating alongside other local officials. The event was livestreamed on the Thailand Cycling Association's Facebook and YouTube channels, attracting over 14,000 viewers. In the women's public category (64.62 km), the top three spots were claimed by Thai national team cyclists preparing for the Asian Games: 1st place went to Chiniporn Battriya from the Ministry of Defense Office team, 2nd to Kamonrada Khao Plod from the KOM-KOM team, and 3rd to Nattacha Songken from the Fisherman's Friend Chiang Mai team, all with a time of 1.41.43 hours.
