Trinuch Signs Order, Establishes Social Security Reform Team with Prominent Members
Labor Minister Trinuch Thiantong has signed an order establishing a Social Security reform team on January 30, 2024. The ministry's policy focuses on enhancing the Social Security Office's administrative efficiency to align with evolving economic and social contexts, particularly addressing the aging society and ensuring long-term stability of the Social Security Fund.
The reform team comprises 17 members, including government officials, representatives from employers and insured workers, and key experts. Notable members include Taveekiat Rongsawat and Montri Thiragotai as employer representatives.
The team's key responsibilities include:
1. Creating a detailed implementation roadmap
2. Monitoring progress and reporting to the Permanent Secretary of Labor
3. Selecting and proposing experts for technical analysis
4. Appointing specialist advisors
5. Completing the reform study within 60 days of the first meeting
The order was signed on January 29, 2024, with the team tasked with comprehensively studying and potentially restructuring the Social Security Office's management.
