Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting of 13-Year-Old Boy After Attempted Romance Dispute

Crime Suppression Division arrested Prateep, 30, on a court warrant for a shocking shooting incident in Tak province. The case stems from an October 2567 (2024) event where a 13-year-old boy (named A) was shot in the head while traveling with friends in a pickup truck. The teenagers had traveled from Wang Chao District to meet a girl they contacted on Facebook, which apparently sparked a violent confrontation. During their return journey, unknown assailants fired approximately 3 shots at their vehicle. Young A was fatally wounded and died at the hospital shortly after. The suspect Prateep was captured near a village in Thong Fa Sub-district, Ban Tak District, and while denying direct involvement, admitted to being present at the crime scene.
