Arrest of 'Maa To' Gunman and Nephew Who Killed Police Informant on Valentine's Night

Police Lieutenant General Padungsak Raksasuk and Lieutenant Colonel Arkapong Suntornvipat led an investigation team to arrest Chaowalit 'Maa To', 57, and his nephew Prasert 'Lek', 48, for the murder of Chaiwat, a 30-year-old police informant. The shooting occurred on February 14th near a PTT gas station in Chanthaburi province. The motive stemmed from personal revenge, as Chaiwat was allegedly involved in drug-related activities and had informed police about the suspects. The suspects lured Chaiwat by planting drugs and then ambushed him, shooting him in the head. Chaowalit also attempted to shoot the victim's wife but failed when the gun jammed. The suspects were charged with premeditated murder, illegal weapons possession, and public firearms discharge.
