The Child and Women's Protection Division of the National Police (CWD) conducted a proactive operation after intelligence revealed the distribution of war weapons to children, youth, and border regions. Operating in Thung Song district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, they successfully arrested 4 suspects and seized a small weapons arsenal. The raid uncovered critical evidence linked to an illegal weapons network known as 'Bae Ong Lai', which has been spreading weapons throughout society, especially among young people. Seized items included 2 M16 A1 rifles, 2 M67 grenades, 9 additional firearms of various types, nearly 300 rounds of ammunition, and other illegal items including methamphetamine. The operation aimed to disrupt weapon distribution channels and prevent potential future criminal activities, with authorities emphasizing the importance of preventing weapons from reaching children and vulnerable areas.
