On January 31, 2024, at 12:30 AM, Police Lieutenant Techasak Chaemjarun from Phachi Police Station in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya was notified of a vehicle collision on the Phachi-Nakhon Luang road in Moo 7, Phachi Subdistrict. One person was killed and another injured, prompting assistance from the Phutthai Sawang Foundation. At the scene, glass fragments and skid marks extended over 15 meters. A red Nissan car was severely rear-ended, flipping over the central road divider with its airbags deployed. A short distance away, 28-year-old passenger Thidarat was found thrown from the vehicle and fatally injured, despite initial emergency efforts to revive her. The car's driver was slightly injured. On the other side of the road, an Isuzu pickup truck showed front-end damage with a collapsed hood. The driver, 25-year-old Chainarong, was visibly intoxicated and could barely sit upright. Chainarong explained he was working in Saraburi and had been drinking with colleagues before driving home. He couldn't recall the accident details and only became aware after crashing into the car. Preliminary investigations showed his blood alcohol content at 154 milligrams percent. He was charged with drunk driving causing death and injury, as well as driving with alcohol levels exceeding legal limits.
