Cambodia Explains 40mm Grenade Landing Near Thai Military Base, Blames New Troops' Indiscipline
On February 5, 2024, the Royal Thai Army received a report from the 2nd Army Region that at approximately 10:20 AM, a 40mm grenade was fired near a Thai operational base in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, with no personnel injured. After the incident, Thai forces prepared to respond and were ready to follow standard force engagement protocols. Thai officials coordinated with Cambodian commanders in the area, who acknowledged the incident as a disciplinary lapse by newly deployed troops and confirmed that the troops have been warned and reprimanded.
