Senate Member Nornaret Launches Investigation into Soldier Phetcharat's Death, Concerned About Military Violence Culture
The Political Development Committee is investigating the death of Private Phetcharat Kamlangying from the 2nd Royal Artillery Regiment at Phrom Yothi Camp in Prachinburi Province. Senator Nornaret Prachyakorn, as committee chairman, stated that they are currently gathering information and calling relevant parties to provide explanations. He highlighted that over the past 15 years, more than 20 soldier death cases have been recorded, including incidents involving Private Siriwat Jaidee from the Navy Provost Marshal Department and Private Rachen Yawamue from the Special Warfare Command. The committee views this as a critical issue that could lead to a culture of violence in the military, noting a lack of CCTV cameras in military camps that would enable proper investigation.
