MG Rises to 5th Place in Strong Market Growth, Aims for 30,000 Vehicle Sales
MG Thailand has announced its strong performance in 2025, reaching 5th place in the market with 27,007 vehicle sales, showing a 57% growth and moving towards its annual target of 30,000 units with a 5% market share. Ta Zhenzen, Managing Director of SAIC Motor-CP Limited, revealed that 2025 is a year where MG has clearly demonstrated the potential of its brand and dealer network through its sales performance. The success reflects systematic work, close collaboration with dealers, and clear strategies in product, pricing, and service. MG has defined its brand direction in Thailand under the 'GLOCAL' (Global + Local) concept, combining the strength of a global brand and cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of Thai consumer needs. The brand positions itself through three main pillars: Global Innovation, Thai Passion, and Value Choice. In terms of products, MG has successfully entered the main car market. The NEW MG4 ELECTRIC continues to lead electric vehicle sales, while the NEW MG S5 EV won the THAILAND EV OF THE YEAR 2025 and is recognized as the most balanced SUV in its segment. This has resulted in strong sales growth and a record monthly sales figure of over 4,503 units since MG's establishment in Thailand. Despite intense price competition in the electric vehicle market, MG continues to focus on long-term value strategies, setting reasonable prices and leveraging its strengths in standard LIFETIME WARRANTY and a robust after-sales service network. This year, MG aims to transition from "quantitative growth" to "high-quality growth" by focusing on brand value, improving customer experiences, and strengthening its dealer network as a true customer relationship management center. The Thai automotive industry saw numerous new brand launches and competitive pricing strategies. Thailand is estimated to produce around 1.5 million vehicles, with 950,000 for export and about 600,000 for domestic sales. Notably, demand for environmentally friendly vehicles continues to increase, with over 120,000 electric vehicle registrations. The market is expected to continue growing, driven by Thailand's ambition to become an Asian EV production hub and the increasing popularity of hybrid vehicles.
