Logan Paul Sells Legendary Rare Pokemon Card for $515 Million
On February 17, Logan Paul, a famous YouTuber and wrestler, made history in the collectible card world by selling the legendary rare 'Pikachu Illustrator' Pokemon card for $16.492 million (approximately 515 million baht), along with a custom diamond necklace, becoming the most valuable collectible card in the world from an auction.
The card was auctioned through Goldin and closed after 42 days of bidding, with intense final hours of competition, ultimately receiving 97 total bids. Only 39 of these cards were originally produced for Pokemon drawing contest winners in the late 1990s, making it one of the world's rarest cards.
Currently, only 20 cards have been authenticity-graded, and Logan Paul's card is the only one receiving a perfect PSA Grade 10. The Goldin CEO described the card as the 'Holy Grail' of Pokemon card collecting.
Five years ago, Paul initially purchased the card for $5.275 million and is estimated to have profited over $8 million from this sale. Guinness World Records has officially confirmed this as the highest-priced collectible card auction in world history.
