71-Year-Old Man Killed While Crossing Road to Receive Donations
The incident took place at 4:30 AM on January 31st near a copper wire company in Samut Prakan province. The victim, Mr. Somsak (last name withheld), was crossing a four-lane road to join a line for donation collection when he was struck by a motorcycle driven by an 18-year-old named "Ae".
According to the driver's statement, he was returning home after dropping off his girlfriend and was riding through an area where many elderly and disabled people were waiting to receive donations. He claimed that when a car in front slowed down, the victim suddenly crossed the road, causing him to be unable to brake in time.
The company producing copper wire had organized a donation event for seniors and disabled individuals, attracting people from various areas. The victim was one of those who came to receive donations. Police investigated the scene, photographed the incident, and prepared to process the case legally, taking the motorcycle driver in for further questioning.
