Immigration Police Raid Congolese Woman at Hair Salon, Arrest Her for Illegal Work
Immigration Police Unit 1 raided and arrested a Congolese woman at a hair salon while she was styling a foreign client's hair, charging her with working illegally and taking jobs from Thai workers. The operation was part of a broader crackdown on foreign nationals working without permits, following a meeting led by high-ranking police officials to enforce strict immigration laws.
The woman, identified as Ms. T, 22, from Congo, was found working without a valid work permit or visa at a hair salon in the Ratchaprarop area. Authorities charged her with overstaying her visa and working illegally, and also charged the Thai salon owner for employing a foreign worker without proper authorization.
Police Commander Prasarn Ekamaprasit emphasized that the Immigration Police will continue to strictly enforce laws to prevent foreign nationals from taking jobs reserved for Thai citizens and urged the public to report any suspected illegal work activities.
