68-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Mysteriously Parked Van in Forest, Hands Tied
A 68-year-old man named Wichian was discovered dead inside a white Toyota van parked in a forest area in Ratchaburi province. Police found the vehicle with its front left wheel removed and propped up by a jack, with signs of fire damage inside the car and the victim's hands loosely tied. The man's body was located in the second row of seats, with burn marks on his right side.
His daughter confirmed his identity, noting he had disappeared on February 11th after sending a LINE message. The family had previously reported him missing in Samut Sakhon, where he had been living for over 30 years after remarrying. Two letters were found in the vehicle, apparently written by the victim to inform his children in case someone discovered his body.
Authorities are investigating the suspicious circumstances, including the unusual positioning of the body, the presence of alcohol bottles (despite the victim being a non-drinker), and the method of his death. The body will undergo forensic examination to determine whether this was a suicide or potential homicide.
