Raging Young Man Demands Money from Mother, Causes Household Destruction

On February 6th, Police Major General Somporn Nitiphat of Thung Song Police Station received a radio report about a man running wild and destroying household items in Moo 10, Nong Hong Subdistrict. He dispatched Police Lieutenant Sakthat Thanachokpattanun with patrol units and a wooden weapon to investigate the scene. Upon arrival, they found a young man named Chatchai inside a room, shouting loudly and destroying property. Police and the village headman negotiated with Chatchai for over 10 minutes, after which he surrendered peacefully. Chatchai's mother explained that she had asked him to work tapping rubber, but he refused. He demanded 200-300 baht, which she denied, needing the money for family expenses like water and electricity bills. When he threatened to pawn his motorcycle, she warned she would call the police, which enraged him and led to his destructive rampage. Unsure if her son was on drugs, she called the police to intervene and get him help.
