Tragic Incident: Myanmar Worker Dies in Underground Pipe Construction Landslide
On February 5, Police Lieutenant Natthanut Nabngamthanaseth from Bang Na Police Station was alerted to a fatal landslide near the BTS Bang Na Station on Sukhumvit Road. Emergency responders from Bang Na Fire Station and the Ruam Katanyu Foundation arrived at the underground pipe construction site. One worker, identified as Vee Ale, approximately 30-35 years old from Myanmar, was found dead, buried in mud within the deep construction pit. Rescue units used a stretcher to recover the body, and forensic investigators and police medical examiners were called to document the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the site was an underground cable conduit project. The area had been cordoned off, with concrete covers removed from two traffic lanes. A backhoe was excavating when the worker entered the pit to adjust the soil. Suddenly, the ground collapsed, tragically killing the worker. Authorities are currently investigating, interviewing the construction site supervisor and other workers to determine the exact cause of this fatal incident.
