Child Sexual Assault Case in Udon Thani Triggers Social Welfare Response
UDON THANI — On February 5, 2026, authorities are providing support to a 13-year-old girl from Ban Dung district after she reported being sexually assaulted by a male relative over several months.
The victim's 42-year-old mother, who works in Phang Nga province, discovered the abuse after her daughter sought medical treatment for abdominal pain. The girl disclosed she was assaulted by her 17-year-old cousin while staying with her grandparents.
The mother is traveling from Phang Nga to Udon Thani to file a formal complaint and take her daughter into her care. The victim, using the pseudonym 'Fah', expressed feeling unsafe returning home and is currently staying with a friend in a neighboring subdistrict.
Officials from the Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security have met with the victim and are arranging medical examination, psychological support, and coordinating with police. The suspect is reported to have left the area. Authorities emphasized their focus on protecting the child and ensuring appropriate legal and support services.
