Agoda, a digital travel platform, has released data on popular Valentine's Day destinations in Thailand based on couples' accommodation searches. Surat Thani has emerged as the top destination, with search volumes increasing more than tenfold compared to the previous year, reflecting couples' growing interest in romantic getaways. Domestic travel interest has clearly increased, with accommodation searches growing almost 130% compared to last year. The fact that Valentine's Day falls on a weekend has made it an ideal opportunity for couples to plan special trips together. Beachside destinations like Surat Thani offer romantic experiences such as Chaweng Beach on Samui Island and long-tail boat tours in Ang Thong National Marine Park. Other popular coastal destinations include Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, and Hua Hin. Mountain destinations like Kanchanaburi have also gained popularity, offering cool weather and nature-close experiences. Kanchanaburi features scenic river views, lush forests, and famous attractions like the River Kwai Bridge and Erawan National Park. Khao Yai and Chiang Mai remain attractive options for couples seeking natural landscapes. Urban destinations like Chonburi and Bangkok continue to attract couples with unique romantic experiences, from sunset views at Bang Saen Beach to rooftop bars overlooking the city.
