Major Drug Bust: Methamphetamine and Crystal Meth Worth Over 700 Million Baht Hidden in Cucumbers and Garlic

Highway police conducted a significant drug bust, uncovering 10 million methamphetamine pills hidden among cucumbers and 26 kg of crystal meth concealed in garlic, with a total street value of over 700 million baht. The operation took place on February 16, 2026, at the Central Investigation Police Command, with senior police officials presenting the seizure details. In the first case, police intercepted a pickup truck near Highway 1 in Nakhon Sawan province. The driver,Kriangkrai, was transporting the vehicle under the guise of delivering agricultural produce. Upon inspection, over 10 million methamphetamine pills worth 500 million baht were discovered hidden beneath cucumbers. In a second related incident, another pickup truck was stopped on Highway 32 in Chainat province. The driver, Teerawat, claimed to be transporting garlic from Sukhothai. Subsequent search revealed 26 packages of methamphetamine and crystal meth hidden among the garlic. Both drivers confessed to being hired as drug couriers, receiving payments of 4,000 and 200,000 baht respectively. They were charged with drug distribution and trafficking, with authorities believing the drugs were smuggled from border regions in northern Thailand.
