Military officers Captain Jirayus Boongtong and Captain Prakas Probjon led the joint patrol, encountering a suspicious group attempting to smuggle drugs from neighboring countries. A firefight ensued for more than 5 minutes, with the opposing group using military-grade weapons. After calling for additional support and securing the area overnight, officials discovered 5 deceased suspects and 14 sacks containing approximately 1.4 million methamphetamine pills spread across a 2-kilometer radius.
