Dramatic Turnaround! One Ballot Tip Triggers Re-election for Local Administrative Organization

On February 23, 2024, Piyanat Klangpanom, Director of the Election Commission in Nakhon Ratchasima, revealed election results for three local administrative organization (TAO) positions. In three separate cases, irregularities prompted re-elections, most notably in Krobburi Sub-district where one single ballot dramatically changed the outcome. In the Krobburi election, Somchai Loysanthia, who was originally second place by just one vote, won the re-vote with 234 votes against Sanit Chunkrobburi's 174 votes, with many local citizens witnessing the dramatic turnabout.
